Bioptimate ApS is a spin-off company from University of Copenhagen. Plant science, crop bio-fractionation, up-scaling technologies and industrial implementation is the core competences of our company. Our approach on plant biofractionation was awarted The KU Innovation Prize in 2012.
We have an ambition of creating a bridge from university research private companies exploiting the scientific findings within plant-based food ingredients in industrial productions.
In collaboration with the company Nutris.techTM and its fantastic team led by CEO Zvonimir Sedlić, the Bioptimate fractionation technology has been implemented in industrial scale at the first European faba bean isolate factory that opened in Novi Senkovac, Croatia, on April 26th, 2022. It uses our patented technology concept for production of faba bean protein isolate and high quality faba bean starch to be used for plant-based food production.
Our pilot trial proteins and from faba beans are being tested as milk and egg replacers in selected food applications. The initial result show functionalities that makes it possible to create both vegan type icecreame and vegan marenge.
